For many days she lived wild in Wandering Woods, eating berries and herbs and drinking from the woodland pools. Then one day while walking through the woods she felt sure she was being followed and glancing nervously over her shoulder she noticed a shadowy figure behind her. Turning off the path she tried to lose the person behind her but instead found herself hopelessly lost, the woods changed from being open and friendly to being dark and threatening. She realised with horror that she had wandered into the Hoary Forest…home of witches, pixies and evil black bats; this was not a good place for a young faerie to be wandering alone. Feeling really frightened now she decided to backtrack and try to find the path she had left, too tired to fly she trudged back the way she came. Suddenly in front of her appeared the same shadowy figure she had been trying to avoid, he was dressed in black, a hood pulled over his head so that just his eyes showed. Nervously she stopped and stared at him. Without speaking he held out his hand and beckoned to her, he smiled gently and when she made no move he took her hand in his and guided her back to the path. Turning suddenly he looked deep into her eyes, and before she could stop him he kissed her gently on the lips. To her surprise, Ceres found herself responding to his kiss as though she’d known him for years, not minutes! The stranger told her that he’d seen her many times around Drakenwood but had never plucked up the courage to speak. He told her his name was Hood and he was a member of the Rogue Guild. Ceres shivered with apprehension...was this the excitement she craved?
Hood took Ceres back to the Rogue hideout deep in the Outlands where he introduced her to the rogue leader Hero Grim Hellstorm. She was made very welcome and soon settled into the rogue way of life. Hood taught her well...double wielding, lunge, twist and disguise all came easy to her, almost as if she was born to it. Hood proposed on bended knee to Ceres one summer evening and they were married two months later by Heroine Handy DeRandy, Hood’s mother in a traditional rogue ceremony.
Ceres is very happy now, she has a wonderful husband who loves and protects her, his family have accepted her into their House, Alluminas, and she has many friends too. But, she still wonders about her parents, she is still looking for them and she hopes to find them one day...
